No Ban On 'Veil / Abhiya' In Nawa kadal Hr. Sec : Principal | KNO

Srinagar (KNO) : Nawa Kadal Principal Fatima Shaheen talking on the issue of ban on veil / abhiya. While talking with Fatima Shaheen she told Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that we are not issued any order or nor we said to students that don’t wear veil/abhiya at school as it’s a baseless news which appeared today in a local newspaper as I am also a women and I am too doing hijab soo how can I implement or issue any order on ban of wearing veil/abhiya in school.

While taking with Kashmir News Observer (KNO) she said that its totally baseless report which appeared in a local newspaper today that as per some anonymous student of the school the institution has imposed a ban on wearing the veils during the school hours. While taking to Fatima Shaheen Principal of Nawa Kadal Girl’s Higher Secondary She told Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that its totally baseless, concocted and fake. We are not imposed any ban on wearing the veil/abhiya and in fact the school has the honor of majority of students of wearing the veils/abhiya. She also said the fact of the matter is that on 23rd of April,2018 the Monday at the time of arrival, the school was having the usual partice of identification of the students by the school/class representatives (female students) on the basis of identity cards .

As some students were not carrying the identity cards and some were without the prescribed uniform beneath the veils on that day, the female teachers of the school insisted on their identification said Fatima shaheen to Kashmir News Observer (KNO). She also said that later we resolved that issue by noting down their names/roll. No,s and on the same time school functioned normally.

Fatima Shaheen told Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that I recived a call and i got informed that the school has issued a ban on the use of veils as I replied the said calle anybody is welcomed in the school to testify it from the students. At end Fatima Shaheen told that it is clarified now for all the concerned that the school has issued no instructions regarding the use of veil in the school and the students wearing veils/Abhiya are normally attending the school
